ジンジャーシロップとは

In a large pot filled with ginger and rich brown sugar from Hateruma Island, our ginger syrup is slowly simmered.
Add sparkling water to create a ginger lemonade, mix it with beer or soy milk. Pour it over ice cream, spread it on bread, or use it as a condiment, enjoy it however you like!
Our natural ingredients are grown under the sunny and beautiful Okinawa sky.

Additive-free, preservative-free, and vegan-friendly syrup. Our brown sugar is rich and aromatic, and our ginger is spicy, evoking a calm and ancestral flavor.
In 1998, Yuki opened a small bar on Ishigaki Island. Wanting to offer delicious cocktails and pancakes, she began making syrups with local ingredients.

At first, Yuki gave her early creations to her regular customers who got a cold or feeling under the weather. It was through this turn of events that her ginger syrup was born.


こだわりの島食材

To cope with the intense heat of Ishigaki Island’s climate, the island’s ancestors devised and introduced many health-promoting products.
Among them is rich brown sugar—only the brown sugar from Hateruma Island is used in our products.
We also use natural ingredients such as ginger (in summer, we use ginger from Kōchi, a prefecture located in the south of Shikoku Island), lemongrass, and red chili peppers from Ishigaki Island. Our products contain no additives or preservatives.

Ginger
Ginger has long been considered a powerful ingredient in traditional Chinese medicine.
We carefully wash the ginger from Ishigaki Island (with the skin on).
Gingerol in ginger (especially in skin) helps increase body temperatures. (In summer, we use ginger from Kōchi, a prefecture located in the south of Shikoku Island.)
Brown Sugar
We use only brown sugar from Hateruma Island, the southernmost point of Japan.
The brown sugar from this island is rich and aromatic, and full of minerals.
In Okinawa, when people feel tired or sweat a lot, snacking on this sugar to provides a nutritious boost.
Lemongrass
It is gentle and refreshing, and its lemon-like scent has a soothing effect.
Red Chili Pepper
Chili peppers contain a large amount of capsaicin, which increases metabolism. It is an ideal partner for supporting good health.
Lemon
Locally grown Meyer lemon adds a fresh and tangy flavor.
Mint
Apple mint adds mellow and sweet aroma of apple. The refreshing scent of mint is soothing to your body and mind.
Salt from Ishigaki Island®
Only seawater from Ishigaki Island is used in its production. Vapor dehydrated at low temperature, our sea salt has a mild and gentle flavor.

In order to bring out natural characteristics of high-quality ingredients from the island, we keep our production method simple and natural.

There is an Okinawa dialect called “Nuchigusui” which means a medicine of life. We use this word to describe delicious foods, drinks, kindness of people etc. that give you happiness and encouragement. We hope to create “Nuchigusui” through our ginger syrup.

This personal experience convinced me that “true health begins with food.” That is why I am committed to creating products harnessing the natural power of ginger and herbs, offering people an experience that nurtures beauty and vitality from within. Through sustainable sourcing and thoughtful product design, we provide choices that lead to a healthier future.

At “Happiness Lab Herb Plus,” which I produce, we use ginger and herbs from Ishigaki Island to craft herbal teas that support modern people facing stress and health concerns. By utilizing local resources, we also create jobs and value for the community. Inspired by Okinawa’s traditional spirit of Yui—the bond of mutual support—we aim to connect people and share Okinawa’s rich natural ingredients with the world.
